Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. Lambda Pi Eta became a part of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988, and the official honor society of the NCA in July 1995. It became designated as the international honor society in 1998. Lambda Pi Eta is fully accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). The National Communication Honor Society now has 300 chapters and more than 5,000 members. In order to become a member of a Lambda Pi Eta chapter, a student must:

  • Have completed at least 60 semester hours (or at least 90 quarter credit hours) in college
  • Have completed at least 12 semester hours (or at least 18 quarter credit hours) of communication study
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Be in the upper 35 percent¬†of their graduating class
  • Be in good standing at the college or university
  • Display commitment to the field of communication

The purpose of the XI Epsilon Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at Sul Ross State University is to enhance the undergraduate experience of outstanding student scholars in communication. Contact Esther Rumsey for information
